Outline process of PIM
Major components are pulp and starch with the addition of water.
-Disposable as household waste
-PIM products are recyclable.
-Biodegradable in soil within six months
Basically the same as plastic injection molding
Precise articles are producible in large volume by using a dedicated molding machine and mold.
1. Most paper products are recyclable as PIM materials.
2. Configuration design is equivalent to plastic moldings.
Rib/boss, undercuts, hinges, and others
3. Others
-High mold transferability and dimensional precision
-Relatively smooth surface of molded products without paper dust
-High rigidity allows molded products to be thin walled and light in weight.
-Optimal wall thickness is in a range from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm.
-Surface decoration is possible
-Static-free and high heat-resistance
-Sufficient consideration for food hygiene and mold prevention
